Ukpepi, who was released on Sunday evening after being in His His release came after being held in captivity for seven days by the kidnappers after he was forcefully taken away by the hoodlums from his CROSPIL estate residence in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of the State.
Confiming the labour leader release Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Irene Ugbo, and the son of the released NLC Chairman, John-Dan Ukpepi said he was released through the effort of the joint security operatives.
Both the Police Public Relations Officer and the family however did not disclose if any ransom was paid for his release, but explained that he was released safely.
Meanwhile in Ondo state South west Nigeria, Unknown gunmen have abducted a WAEC official, Adebayo Gbenga and three other unidentified travellers at Oba Akoko on Owo- Akungba Road in Akoko South West Local Government area of the state
Gbenga who is working at WAEC office in Akure took his son to the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA) and a friend of his to school when the incident happened.
Gbenga, who was driving his Toyota Corolla car on the road was accosted with other motorists on the road by gunmen.
According to the source, Gbenga’s friend and his son escaped from being kidnapped as they quickly opened the door of the car and ran into the bush.
Spokesperson of the state police command, Femi Joseph, said the command has commenced investigation the incident.
He said the police would do everything possible to ensure that those abducted regain their freedom.
