The people of Bassambiri in opu-nembe Kingdom of Bayesa State will soon be a proud Kingdom home to a federal College Of Education.
This is as the bill for the establishment of FCE Bassambiri scales second reading on the floor of the Nigerian Senate, ON Tuesday, September 21,2021.
Sponsoor of the bill and Senator Biobarakuma Degi -Eremienyo representing Bayelsa East in the red Chamber is optimistic that the people of opu-nembe Kingdom will soon have an institution to further boost education development, especially Teacher Education in the area.
If approved FCE Bassambiri is expected to increase peace and unity for a people who have just elected A first class king after so many years, the Ogbodo Viii, Amanayabo Opu-nembe, HRM Biobelemoye Josiah, will be the destination for quality teacher education pursuit not only in Bayelsa, but in the entire South South geopolitical zone of Nigeria.
Also a bill to establish the federal colleges of Education in Omuo-Ekiti, Ekiti State, sponsored by Senator Biodum Olujimu scaled second reading in
the Senate on Tuesday white lawmakers passed a bill to establish orthopaedic hospital in Dekina, Kogi State and Federal Medical Centre in Deba, Gombe State.
The Senate’s approval for the establishment of the federal health institution in Kogi followed the consideration of report presented by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Health, Senator Yahaya Oloriegbe.
Oloriegbe in his presentation observed that Nigeria is one of the densely populated countries in the world which “is plagued with poverty and an exceedingly high burden of disease.”
He said Orthopaedics such as musculoskeletal disorders, spine disease, cancers, tumours and congenital defects are suffered by many citizens without adequate care.
He explained that orthopaedic hospitals are important in improving health care in patients, adding that locating one in Dekina would bring healthcare closer to residents of densely populated urban and rural communities.
The bill for the establishment of FMC in Gombe was sponsored by Senator Danjuma Goje and referred to the Committee on Health.
