The controversy rocking the non-acceptance of the integrated payroll and personnel information system, IPPIS by the Academic staff union of universities, ASUU may be having a new twist after a meeting between president muhammadu Buhari and the teachers
The closed door meeting which held on Thursday with ASUU at the aso rock villa, may not be unconnected with the faceoff between the accountant generals office and ASUU over IPPIS
ASUU leadership led by its president, professor Biodun Ogunyemi rejected the presidential directive in IPPIS and asked its members not to allow themselves to be captured in the scheme claiming it has developed an alternative solution called University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS).
It is however not confirmed if the issue will be resolved after a high power meeting of this nature, especially as the federal government delegation and the leadership of ASUU declined to speak with journalists
